Shadows - good
Here the person with low hearing has a good view of the person he/she is communicating with, because the light source doesn’t block the visibility of the other person’s face. He/she also has a good view of the entrance and can see when other people enter the room.
Shadows - bad
People with low hearing often use facial expressions and lip reading to communicate with other people. Therefore it is very important to them to have a good view of the other person. When the other person is sitting with a light source behind him/her, it is difficult to see him/her face because of the shadow. They also prefer to have a good view of the entrance, so they can see other people coming into the room.
